Recent Domestic Violence in the News

Our prayers and thoughts are with the family of Aasiya Hassan [Zubair], a recent victim of domestic violence.

We at WAFA House denounce in the strongest of terms all acts of domestic violence, as they are completely inconsistent with the spirit of Islam. We are firmly dedicated to educating and assisting victims of domestic violence, as education is the key to building a healthy community. Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) said, "The best of you, before God and His creation, are those who are best in their own families, and I am the best to my family."

This is a Friday sermon given by Sheikh Hamza Yusuf on domestic violence on Feb 20, 2009.
