Welcome to the Wafa House's blog!

We would like to use this blog as an opportunity and space to share thoughts about domestic violence and other social issues.

We welcome anyone to share their stories about domestic violence. You can submit your story to wafahouse at gmail.com to be posted anonymously.

Our Mission

Wafa House is a support center dedicated to educating and assisting victims of domestic violence. Our purpose is to maintain a facility that will strengthen and reinforce the family unit while emphasizing the value of human life through intervention and community awareness.

- Crisis Intervention and Prevention
- Counseling for victims and social services
- Advocacy
- Interpreter and translator assistance
- A toll-free hotline for those in need of support, advice, or counseling referrals
- Community resource referrals
- Workshops on self-improvement and education
- Encouragement and assistance towards continuing education
- Male counseling and anger management referrals
- Accompanied court appearances
- Play therapy counseling
- Outreach to help educate the public on understanding and addressing domestic violence as a prevalent social issue in our community

    Great organization and a worthy cause for the Muslim community that is in denial.

    Domestic violence or social services are of utmost importance to the community whether men, women ot children.

    The Volunteer Workshop that took place on Jan. 9th 2010 was very informative. The turnout was great in spite of the severe cold weather that day. Attendees showed much interest in the organization.
    Overall it was very successful.
